Helping One Another...Gleanings from Galatian 6:1-3

Helping one another, praying for one another, "being there" for another....that is the right thing to do...and God authorizes it!
Here in Galatians, the Scriptures give us some guidelines on how we are suppose to do it and the attitude we should have as we practice this type of lifestyle God has ordained for us....

                                                            Gleanings from Galatians 6:1-3

" Live creatively, all of us, as brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus! What does this mean? Well, one thing it means for sure is this: if you see or know someone who is overtaken, has perhaps fallen, and is now trapped and controlled by sin in their life...acting or having an attitude that is contradictory to the Scriptures, then here is the part you are to play.
First, keep any critical comments to yourself. Instead, with an attitude of humility, assist your brother or sister back on the right path. Be gentle as to your approach, and be a good listener...pinpoint if you are able where this all began, showing them the result of all this can hurt them or possibly hurt others.
Offer some ideas if you are able that could give them a way out of their circumstances, and if nothing else, be real, keeping their interests at heart...their relationship with God...and their relationship with others.

Above all, listen....and listen first, before you offer any advice or suggestions. Be real support, whether it be moral support or just being there to listen...let your actions speak clearly to them...you are there for them...you are in this for the "long ride"!
Share some things on how you overcome certain obstacles or sins in your own life, and do so without any "superior attitude". Don't allow yourself to be fooled into thinking you are beyond Grace...for you might be seeking forgiveness before the day is even over!
Learn to carry another's sorrows and faults, because when you do this, you are being a good witness for Christ Jesus...you are fulfilling the very Law of Christ. What is that Law?...to love one another with all your heart, all your mind, and have a depth of feeling when you think about your other brothers and sisters!

Remember this: In Christ there are none of us in a position where we can not help another...that would be a horrible mistake! None of us are "too" important to help another!

                               Prayer of One Another

"Father, I come before You to thank you so much for my brothers and sisters. May their hearts and minds be drawn to Your Scriptures, and find strength there.
When sin does find its way into our hearts, help us to be there for one another, to offer strength and help in any way we can.
As we turn to You for guidance and direction, may we know the source of our strength in order we might be overcomers, and realize that strength can only come from You and putting Your Word into our hearts and lives.
May we always embrace the "spirit of humility" toward one another, and may we share in the victories You alone give to each of us. Amen"
