Don't give up...there are others who didn't...

Every once in a while, I like to remind myself that failures, or things that appear to be failures, are a part of life, and without repeating cliches, it is sometimes good to remember the fallen....who then got back up...again...in fact, there was one who rose from the dead!

Albert Einstein....he did not speak until the age of 4, even his parents considered him "sub-normal". One teacher described him as a "mentally slow, unsociable, and adrift in foolish dreams". Later, Albert was expelled from school, and was denied acceptance to the Zurich Polytechnic School.
Eventually, he did speak and learned to read... one day his teachers noticed he was able to do a little math....

Winston Churchill...actually failed the 6th grade. What was even more astounding he failed in every election for public office...except for one. He became Prime Minister of England at the age of 62....and England survived the aggression of WWII. His famous words of encouragement to  his English people was highlighted with the phrase: "....we will never surrender!"

Babe Ruth...the great baseball player for the New York Yankees, held the record for the most home runs for many decades in major league baseball, equally held the record for many decades on having the most strikeouts by a pro baseball player. His answer to the most strikeouts: " Every strikeout brings me closer to the next home run."

Bell Telephone, founded by Alexander Graham Bell, struggled to get his idea of a telephone started. The corporation that was formed from this "telephone idea", offered all their rights of the invention of the phone to Western Union for $100,000. The offer was overwhelmingly rejected with the following comment: "What use could we have of this electrical toy."

And of course, America's own, Abraham Lincoln. There is a "ton of stuff" online, written in books, and orally communicated about the 16th President of the United States...and it is still a mind-blower.
He went into service as a captain...and returned as a private. Then, he became a businessman, and failed. Then it was law school, and became a lawyer who was known to be impractical and temperamental.so,... on to politics! He was defeated the first time he ran for public office, defeated again running for Congress, was turned down as commissioner to the General Land Office, ran for office again...this time for Senate...and was defeated, in 1854. He accepted position for Vice Pres. and his party was defeated in the elections. He run again in 1858 in another senatorial run...and was defeated.
He wrote a letter to a friend, and it read: " I am now the most miserable man living. If what I feel...was equally distributed to the whole human family, there would not be one cheerful face on the earth."
Then, he was asked about running for presidency...as the Civil War loomed near...

Michael Jordan, one of the greatest basketball players in the NBA, was cut from making his high school basketball team.

And Walt Disney...as a young man was fired by a newspaper editor. The reason? He lacked imagination...wasn't very creative and lacked the ability to come up with good ideas.

Even Elvis Presley was removed from the Grand Ole Opry in 1954. He was told to stick to his day job...driving truck.

Charles Darrow had an idea about a board game and presented it to Parker Bros. in 1931. It was rejected because it was too complex. A few years later,Parker Bros. decided to give his board game "a chance". Monopoly became the best board game of all time.

Decca Records didn't like the recording sound of 4 young men who played guitars. Decca told these young men "guitar groups are on their way out.
So, these 4 young men went to Columbia Records to see if they might get a chance to introduce their style of music...and the rest is history...The Beatles took the world "by storm".

Jimi Hendrix, the great rock music musician of the late 60's,got his early start being an  opening act for a popular group at the time, The Monkees. Hendrix and his band were booed off stage and eventually dropped from the tour.

In 1944, Emmeline Snively of the Blue Rock modeling agency told a "model hopeful" after working with her:"you have 2 choices, become a secretary or...get married."
The "modeling hopeful", continued to pursue modeling, and changed her given name to : Marilyn Monroe. I'm not sure what happen to Emmeline Snively.

There was a man who went about doing good, and people got upset about it...to the point they devised a plot to have him killed. A man named Ciaphas, who was a high priest did all he could to see this man killed,  and in fact it happened, he was crucified. The man who was crucified was only guilty...of doing good, and  announced to all God was his Father, and he was His Son....and like other stories...I don't know what happen to Ciaphas.
