7th and Final Saying...of Christ Jesus on the Cross

This is it! This is the last saying we hear from Christ Jesus before He "gives it up"...but just the beginning of "gathering us up". And if I may so...this is really gettin' good!

In a Gleaning format ( its just what I do lol), Luke 23:44-46 describes it this way:
" It was now about noon, and darkness went over the whole land...it was a total "blackout", and remained this way until 3:00 in the afternoon.
And suddenly, the curtain (or veil) that was in the Temple...the one into the "Holy of Holies",
was ripped!...right down the middle!...from one end to the other!
Then, Jesus shouted, "Father, I give My Life to You now! Then Death, who was nearby, was called and given permission to escort Jesus...to wherever He wanted to go!"

The word "shout" in English is defined: "to utter a loud call, usually with deep emotion, calling something to every one's attention."

First, here are some cool things I happen to be "captivated" by:

1. Jesus now has returned to calling God His "Father"...not the "My God...My God..."as He had referred to Him earlier while on the Cross.
2. Jesus committed His Life into His Father's care...not the "grip of Death". I think if I may expand this thought a little, Jesus was saying, "Father, all my confidence is in You, and I am about to announce what has been done, and when I have completed what I need to do....I put all my trust in You...You will "pull me out of here" and we will be together once more...forever!"
3. As this announcement Christ shouted and was about to have unfold, was there any indication the Father was "with Him" on this?
   You bet there was!

Just ask a High Priest who was performing their religious duties during Passover, offering a sacrificed lamb while the finality of the Cross was going on. I believe it was the Father Himself who ripped the veil completely in two at that moment, and as the Scriptures describes: "from the top to the bottom".
At that point I believe the Father was sending a clear message: "Wrong lamb...He is over here...The Very...Lamb of God!..who takes away every sin the world has ever committed! Oh, and something else you need to know: This is My Beloved Son...in whom I am well-pleased!"

So, what happened during the next 3 days? The Scriptures aren't exactly clear. The Scriptures do not say Christ actually went to hell. It does say He went to Hades and most likely spoke to fallen angels (Jude 6) and proclaimed "The Redemption"...a declaration of victory over Satan, who the fallen angels had given their allegiance to.
It is also possible He went to Paradise (Luke 16:19-31), and gathered all those who believed in Him prior to His Death, and took them with Him to heaven.
I Peter 3:18(b)-19 is the only written Scripture an apostle gives in reference to this :"...in His human body, He gave Himself, and allowed Death to escort Him...for now He is alive through the Power of the Holy Spirit...and His first stop...He went and made a Proclamation to spirits who had "sold-out" of God's Kingdom, and gave their allegiance to Satan and his cohorts."

Overall, nothing seems real clear as to what exactly went on...but whatever Christ had done...it certainly has worked out for the good of each one of us!
One thing is clear...the Scriptures do not support the idea of 2nd chances after we die. Hebrews 9:27 states: "We are all destined to die...once...then we face judgment."
So, wherever Christ Jesus went after the Cross, for some, the News was eternally crushing, while others, who had "staked" their very lives on the Promise of His Death and Resurrection..the News made them quite estactic!

If you are reading this...and not sure whether the News of Christ is a good or bad thing: consider doing the following:
1) Bow your head
2) Clear your mind( take a few,  let things settle for a minute)
3) Be honest with yourself, bare your heart for what it is
4) Pray something like this: "Lord Jesus, I don't understand all about You, but I am willing to give You a chance in my life. I will designate my own heart to You, and welcome You there.
5) I don't feel I have met up to Your Father's Commands, like being Holy like He is, but I accept the fact...You have!
6)So, with that being said, I ask You to forgive me where I have offended You
7) and come into my heart, which I now designate for You, and become my Savior and My Lord!  Thank -you...Amen.
