Oh Zebulun...Oh Naphtali...Your Warriors Have Fallen...Gleanings from Isaiah 9:1-7

In the first 7 verses of this chapter in Isaiah, the Assyrian assault has already begun. The pain and sorrow that accompanies this is almost unspeakable.
Yet, God offers the land of Judah and Israel hope...hope for their future! He has not forgotten them, and will rescue them once more.
Zebulun, west of Galilee and Naphtali, north of Zebulun, were the first to fall at the hands of Assyrians.
Yet, in all this suffering...a great promise is made...and will be echoed through the ages to come...He is Coming!...and will gather His people....
                                               Gleanings from Isaiah 9:1-7

" In the midst of the suffering, in the midst of the pain, in the midst of gloom...there will be an end!
West of Galilee, the land of Zebulun...will be humbled. North of Zebulun, the land of Naphtali will be brought low.
Yet I tell you the time comes when He will make these lands glorious once again. The lands that are by the Way of the Sea...the Sea of Galilee...will be glorious...the Galilee of the nations!

For the people that have known and walked in darkness...will have seen a Great Light! And for those who have dwelt in the land of utter darkness, and embraced the shadows of death..a Great Light will shine!
You will my Lord, enlarge the nation of Israel. This will cause her people to rejoice. They will have in them a joy...like that at a full and plentiful harvest! They will be likened to warriors, who after battle, now divide the spoil!
For the yoke of slavery that is upon Israel...will be broken. The weights upon her shoulders and the rods that oppress her back...all shall be broken...just as in the days of Gideon, when Israel was set free from the wicked hands of the Midians, crushed and destroyed by You, my King! For the boots of war and clothes stained with blood, will be burned...used as fuel for our own fires!

For this saying is true: " There will be a Child born among us...a Son that is of our own flesh and blood. Governments will yield and sit upon His shoulders, and He shall be called: Wonderful Counselor, the Mighty God, the Everlasting Father, and our Prince of Peace!
The government He brings will be filled with His Peace, and will be established forever! From the very throne of our beloved David, He shall rule with His True Justice and His Everlasting Fairness.
The passionate commitment the Lord Himself has for us...will also make this all happen for us!
